inJOY joins NTHU's international high school basketball invitational
At the end of July 2026, Hsinchu welcomed high school basketball teams from Yilan, Taipei, Kaohsiung, Singapore, and Malaysia. The five-day 2026 MotionJet x NTHU Sports Technology Center International High School Basketball Invitational concluded on July 29. During the tournament, NeuinX held an inJOY sports technology experience event courtside, introducing teams to how AI video analysis can support everyday training and game review.
An invitational connecting Taiwanese and international teams
The invitational was jointly organized by the Chinese I-Maker Learning Association, National Tsing Hua University Sports Technology Center, and New Cheng Life Marketing Co., Ltd. Running from July 25 to 29, it focused on competition, sports technology, and physical education.
Taiwanese teams traveled from Yilan to Kaohsiung, while teams from Singapore and Malaysia joined from overseas. Top-division and second-division high school teams competed alongside international teams, giving players opportunities during their summer training period to face opponents they do not usually meet. The Kaohsiung National University of Education Affiliated Senior High School boys’ team won the tournament, followed by Taipei Chenggong High School, Yilan Nan’ao High School, and Singapore’s Siglap Basketball Club.
Helping teams see their own games
The July 26 inJOY sports technology experience event was one of the tournament’s technology activities. NeuinX demonstrated AI sports video analysis: the system captures game footage and analyzes basketball data to help coaches review tactics, while giving players a way to revisit and adjust specific movements.
For grassroots teams with limited resources, producing usable game records is not easy. Traditional workflows require dedicated filming and editing, and the material may be ready too late to inform preparation for the next game. Automation gives teams a chance to bring footage and data from one game into the next discussion more quickly.
Sports education needs a technology perspective
Before the tournament, the organizers held a five-day FunSportsTech sports technology camp for three high school boys’ basketball teams. Sessions covered spoken English, sports marketing, event broadcasting, sports technology experiences, and drone soccer, alongside practical insights from sports-industry speakers.
The program helped student athletes see career options beyond the basketball court. The sports industry needs more than players; it also needs people who can work with data, video, and technology. Bringing competition, education, and technology together in one setting was a key part of this invitational.
